25) Baltimore Ravens: Jared Odrick, DT/DE, PSU                 Team Needs: CB, LB, DE, OLB
17) San Francisco 49ers:  Earl Thomas, S, Texas      Team Needs:   OT, S, CB, G

Earl Thomas would have been the highest rated safety if he would have came out next year. The only reason he isn't ranked as high in 2010 is because of Eric Berry. Thomas rarely makes mistakes, has great hands, good speed, and a great tackler.  You can bring him up in the box or shadow him over Randy Moss. His versatility and consistency allows whomever draft's him to plug in a pro bowl caliber safety for the next ten years. Mike Mayock even has him rated higher that Eric Berry, which I think is a huge reach.

Thomas only raised his stock at the Texas pro day, running a 4.37 forty yard dash.
NFL Comparison- Michael Griffen
Dan Williams is one of the best players available at eighteen and also fills that insurance policy for Casey Hampton. Williams commands immediate attention from offensive coordinators and game planning all week from offensive line coaches. Even at 6'2, 327, he is mobile enough to both clog the run and push the pocket.
NFL Comparison- Casey Hampton
18) Pittsburgh Steelers: Dan Williams, DT , Tennessee    Team Needs: NT, CB, S, G
I think it's safe to say that Atlanta will go defense here, and they can't miss since they only have 1 pick in the first two rounds. The only question is what position they will address. The secondary is a definite possibility, but Brandon Ghee and Donovon Warren are both inferior prospects to Pierre Paul. Safety is really out of the question unless they want to gamble on Taylor Mays.

Jason Pierre Paul, can step in and start tag teaming the league with John Abraham. Pierre Paul has all the athleticism in the world, and just needs fine tuning by a professional coaching staff. An extra plus is the length of his arms, which is huge when you think how much easier it is to knock down passes on third and longs.
19)  Atlanta Falcons: Jason Pierre Paul, DE, USF             Team Needs: DE, OLB, WR, G
NFL Comparison- Julius Peppers
20) Houston Texans : C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson         Team Needs: RB, DT, S,CB

The Texans would have a lot more potential with the addition of a run game. C.J. Spiller could fall if there is a run on tackles picks 10-20. Brian Price is another option if they want to replace the dissapointing Shaun Cody.

Spiller is by far the best back in this class and has superstar potential.
21) Cincinnati Bengals: Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma            Team Needs: S, TE, WR, G

Carson Palmer needs someone who can stretch the middle of the field. He tends to lock onto Ochocinco too often which gives them no chance against premiere defenses. (Ex. the NY Jets)

Jermaine Grisham would have been a lock in the first round had he come out last year. At 6'6" and 260 pounds, he has the strength and speed to beat cover two defenses on a regular basis. Not only can he grab the jump ball, he also excels at running after the catch.

Drafting a tight end that can beat linebackers consistently can do wonders to improving your wide receiver play. By taking Gresham, the Bengals will improve on a offense that ranked only 22nd in the league in scoring.
22) New England Patriots: Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan   Team Needs: DE, OLB, G, WR
Belicheck will help rebuild his defense here after trading away aging building blocks Richard Seymour and Mike Vrabel.

If anyone knows anything about Brandon Graham it's me. I played him in a high school scrimmage my senior year and got absolutely layed out by the guy. That's a big deal when you considering I turned down multiple college offers in order to supply you guys with excellent draft information. (I wish)

Graham was highly productive at Michigan despite having no real help around him. He also shined in the Senior Bowl. He can play in both the 3-4 and 4-3.
23) Green Bay Packers: Mike Iupati, G, Idaho Team Needs: OT, CB, S, G

The Packers are one of the up and coming teams in the NFL. They had one of the leagues best draft's last year when they selected both Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji.  They will create nightmares for opposing defensive coordinators when they improve on a offense that already ranked third in scoring.

The Packers need to get younger all along the offensive line. Iupati has tremendous upside (there's even talk of him playing goal line defense and special teams). Anthony Davis is another option but he had a horrible 40 yard dash at 5.35.
The Eagles need to get back the vocal leader they lost when they chose not to resign Brian Dawkins.

Sean Weatherspoon has all the intangibles that you like when drafting a linebacker in the first round. He is known for his leadership skills and contribution in the locker room.

He also EXCELLS in pass protection. He defends the slant and out routes better than any linebacker in the nation due to his acceleration on cuts. He is a steal at number 22.
24) Philadelphia Eagles:  Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri           Team Needs: S, DE, CB, LB
With the addition of Anquan Boldin, Baltimore can look to other positions besides wide receiver.

Jared O'Drick fits what the Ravnes like to do, which is rush the passer. It doesn't hurt that Trevor Pryce is 34.
26) Arizona Cardinals:  Jerry Hughes, OLB,TCU          Team Needs: OT, OLB, QB, DT
The Cardinals are at a pivotal fork in the road to which way they want to go with their franchise. They will not be close to the team they were the past two years with Kurt Warner, so they need to imrove in other areas. They can't just lean on the passing game anymore.

Jerry Hughes can give the pass rushing attack some much needed youth. Joey Porter is only a stop gap for the most valuable position in the 3-4 defense Arizona runs.
27) Dallas Cowboys: Taylor Mays, S, USC    Team Needs: LB, S, OT, DE
With the release of Ken Hamlin, safety became a huge need for the Cowboys. When  Gerald Sensabaugh is your only starting option at safety, it's probably a good time to draft some youth at the position.

Taylor Mays had some coverage problems in college, but hype is what the Cowboy's really covet. Mays ran a 4.3 at the combine and which can satisfy the Dallas "itch" for the off season.
28) San Diego Chargers: Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama      Team Needs:  NT, DE, RT, S,
San Diego released Jamal Williams within two hours of the free agency period. Nose tackle just became the biggest need for the "Chagezz", and Terrance Cody is the most reasonable option.

If San Diego signs a nose tackle in free agency instead of waiting on the draft, expect for them to draft a tackle like Trent Williams. A couple of reasons why..
1) To help open up the non existent running lanes that Ladanian Tomlinson tried going through last year.
2) Phillip Rivers is going to have to throw a lot since their defense just lost two starters.
29) New York Jets: Everson Griffin, DE, USC      Team Needs: WR, OLB, DE, S
The Jets have traded for "Wake N Bake" Santonio Holmes, so receiver is no longer a priority. However, Defensive End will still be a priority even after the potential signing of Jason Taylor. Griffin has the speed that Rex Ryan likes in his zone blitzing schemes. Griffin can drop back into coverage if need be, and also has a boat load of potential.
30) Minnesota Vikings: Tim Tebow, QB,  Florida                  Team Needs: CB, LB, QB, RB
I've gone back and forth with this pick many times. The Vikings have some minor needs that can definitely be addressed.

Cedric Griffin tore his ACL in the NFC championship game and Antoine Winfield will be 34 next season. If Kyle Wilson did fall to them, I wouldn't be surprised if they scooped him up.

With E.J. Henderson always injured or playing hurt, Brandon Spikes is also possibility.

Another option is Jahvid Best who would be the perfect compliment to Adrian Peterson.

There's a couple reasons why I like Tim Tebow here.

1)The Vikings have a talented enough roster to take a gamble on a high profile player like Tebow.
2) Percy Harvin was Tebow's go to guy in college and could help make the transition that much easier.
3) Who better to mentor Tebow than Brett Favre?
4) Tebow will be gone by the time the Viking's pick in the second round.
NFL Comparison- David Garrard
31) Indianapolis Colts:  Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers         Team Needs: DT, LB, OT, OG
Apparently Bill Pollian blamed the offensive line for the Colt's loss in the Super Bowl. I guess he didn't see his defense get run on all game.

Pollian has his offensive linemen here. Davis is a boom or bust type pick, that has great value here picked in the bottom of the first round.
NFL Comparison- Shaun Rogers
32) New Orleans Saints: Brian Price, DT, UCLA            Team Needs: S, LB, DE, DT
The Saints goal this offseason has to be improving against the run. Brian Price has great positional value at this point in the draft and would pair with Sedrick Ellis nicely.

The Saints also have needs at linebacker and defensive end. The only other pick I can see happening here is Everson Griffin, who fits the fast type of defense the Saints like to play.

"I like the idea of picking up Tim Tebow with this pick but I think we will trade down if anything if were going to draft him so we can make more use with this pick."

You know your team has Brad Childres  (aka. the choke artist) as a head coach right? Coach Childress doesn't like to put effort into trading around in the draft (or win big games). He knows Favre wil only be around one more year at the most, and his team isn't getting any younger. He needs to groom a signal caller.

"good pick but the only problem i see is when it comes to the hoodie and the draft a trade out of the first round is probably more likely!!!!!"

You seemed so excited when you wrote this that I felt you earned to get it posted. Your statement is a good possibility, but I think Belicheck has stockpiled these picks knowing that he would have a few holes in 2010. Expect him to stay put this year and concentrate on the guys he likes the most.

"Great pick for the 9ers, if he falls this far. I would love to match this up with Haden with the second pick, and Toby Gerhart with pick 49.  Anyone remember Tom Rathman, who also happens to be one of our coaches.  This dude is a Rathman clone!"

I think he definitely has a chance to fall. There will most likely be a run on offensive tackles and defensive ends/outside linebackers in picks 9-16. Regardless, San Fran will only  get closer and closer to a championship caliber team with their two first round picks.

"the eagles are not taking a lb in the first. lineman (df/of) cb or trade up or down."

Wow your right! You made such a good argument that I'm going to change my pick right now to a defensive linemen!

"I think Freeny is better suited as a 43DE because he's very strong as well as quick...also I think his first step is quicker than Graham's....however I think Graham might actually have a better kill instingt once he gets close to a passer or someone in the backfield...he's more like  a sidewinder missle - once he locks on, it's over"

I totaly agree Freeney is better suited for the 4-3. The reason I compared the two are their instincts of getting to the quarterback. They both are "sidewinder missles - once they lock on, it's over".

"I'd love to see the Eagles get  Weatherspoon, but it just makes too much sense and Reid always likes to do the unexpected."

An Eagles fan that admitts something like this is a dime a dozen.  You might have just as good of a chance seeing a bald eagle in Phili.

"hey roth-man!!! do u think that trader mike move's up from pick 29??? -j.e.t.s 2010."

I can see it's happy hour round the clock in New York! I honestly think the Jets only have a couple holes to fill, and can target the best players available at those positions when it comes to the 29th selection. If they move up or down to far, they might not get the guys they thought were going to be there at their current selections.

" Mays is a terrible pick at this spot for Dallas.  Best OL available period.  Pouncy may be best fit. Address safety in 2nd Round."

What's terrible is what the Cowboys have at safety on their depth chart.  Tackle is the only other possibility.

"I like the pick here...Do you think the Falcons will pass on him though because of his lack of experience and problems with academics?"

His lack of experience might hurt his stock, but thats why he has fallen even this far. However, he has a very high motor and has expressed his willingness to improve. There's a difference between his personality and a player that just goes through the motions. He is what you call "coachable".
